Viikonloppu menikin aika vauhdilla. Lauantaina puuhailtiin parvekejuttuja ja sunnuntaina oltiin tien päällä, miehellä oli saarnavuoro toisessa seurakunnassa ja samalla nähtiin paljon vanhoja tuttuja. Parvekkeelta lisää juttua myöhemmin, mutta tämä on pakko kertoa heti. Se suuri hortensia viime kesältä selvisi talvehtimisesta autotallissa! Kaikki muut kasvit eivät selvinneet, mutta tämä näyttää ihan elävältä ja varmasti tulee kukkimaankin komeasti kesän koittaessa. Nyt tässä kirjoittaessani tuli mieleen, että en muistanut kastella kasveja kertaakaan koko talven aikana! Ehkä se selittää, miksi osa kuoli. Tämä hortensia oli kyllä ainoa, jota oikeasti olisin harmitellut, jos se olisi kuollut, joten hyvä näin. Toinen selviytyjä oli marokkolainen minttu, mutta se ei vielä ole valokuvauskunnossa... Pimeässä kasvit näyttävät kasvavan lähinnä valkoisia oksia, joten täytyy odotella, että kummitusmaisuus häviää. Taas voi todeta, että minun hoidossani selviävät vain sitkeät kasvit. Hyvä, että hortensia kuului siihen luokkaan.

The weekend passed very quickly! We spent Saturday mostly by being busy with the terrace cleaning (furniture, tiles...) and then Sunday on the road. My husband had a preaching assignment in one Flemish church and after the service we met with old friends. More stories about the terrace later on, but one thing I must tell you immediately. The big hydrangea survived the winter in the garage! Most of the plants did not survive, but it just occurred to me while writing this post that I forgot completely to water them. I guess no more explanation is needed there... Anyway, they were not such a big loss. The hydrangea is the only one I would have been upset about had it not survived. The only other plant that seemed to come through was the Moroccan mint, but that's still looking rather gloomy as the new branches are still more white than green... I guess, this is one more piece of evidence that only stubborn plants can survive my care. Glad that the hydrangea proved to be such.
