Lukemista - Reading

Nyt alkaa joulukoristelut hieman tympäistä, mutta ajattelin kestää viikonloppuun saakka. Sunnuntaina kuusen kun voi vain jättää kadun varteen roska-autoa odottamaan. Odotan oikein, että saan olohuoneen ilmeen taas selkeytymään. Hassuahan se on, että ensin odottaa, että saisi koristella ja sitten odottaa, että saisi kerätä koristeet pois... Aikansa kaikella.

Vapaa-ajan kirjapino näyttää tällä viikolla tältä. Mies lueskelee profeettakirjaa, minkä tilasin hänelle joululahjaksi. Aika hyvältä se vaikutti, kun itsekin hieman selailin. Selailun perusteella uskallan suositella, jos Vanhan Testamentin profeetat kiinnostavat. Behind the Gospels taas on tällä hetkellä yksi uusimmista social memory -suuntaisista kirjoista. Aihepiiri on tällä hetkellä yksi ajankohtaisimmista. Ehdottomasti suositteluun menee sekin, jos uusin evankeliumitutkimus kiinnostaa. Alimmaisen kirjan mies sai kotonaan käydessään. Kirkkohistoriaa se. Oma kirkkohistoriapinoni (ironinen yhteensattuma) on sen korkuinen, että en ehtinyt tuota vielä vilkaistakaan. ;-)

Now I am getting tired of the Christmas decorations, but I better hold through until the weekend. On Sunday night we can place the tree on a side walk and a trash car will come to pick it up on Monday. I am so much looking forward to a clearer look! It's actually bit crazy first to wait eagerly for a right moment to decorate and just a few weeks later wait eagerly to take the decorations down... Well, there is time for everything.

The leisure book pile in the living room looks right now like this. My husband is reading the prophet book, which I ordered him as a Christmas gift. It seems really good. I took a moment to glance it through, and hope to give it a proper go in the near future. If you are into the Old Testament prophets, this is definitely a great book to have. My book in this pile is Behind the Gospels, which is currently one of the newest pieces about social memory. That's THE topic right now in the New Testament studies. Definitely a must! The last book is about church history. My husband got it as a present when he visited his home last week. I did not have time to look at it yet though, because my own pile for the church history (ironical co-incidence) is that high, that I better keep my focus on it right now. ;-) But he says it seems really interesting, so take his word for it.
