Pelargoniat olivat kasvihuonereissulla aikalailla pääosassa. Nehän on tyypillisesti hiukan sellasia mummokasveja, mutta puolentoista metrin varrella käytäviä reunustaessa ne olivat kyllä aikamoisen näyttäviä. Itse asiassa olin hiukan ihmeissäni, miten hienolle ne näyttivät. Siis peruspelargoniat? No, ehkä ne ei ihan perusmallia olleet, mutta pelargonioita kuitenkin. Täytynee ostaa parvekkeelle muutama kesäksi, vaikkei into nyt ihan tuollaisiin kasvustoihin riittäisikään. Pelargoniat ovat kuulema helppoja talvehtijoita, mutta minulta kuoli sellainen autotallissa tänä talvena... Montakohan vuotta tuollaiseen korkeaan pelargoniaan tarvitaan?

Pelargonium, or Geraniums as they are more frequently called, were pretty much in focus at the royal greenhouses. Those are typically sort of "grandmother plants," but the galleries were rather impressive with stems growing up to 1,5m height. I got inspired to buy few for the terrace this year, but I doubt that my enthusiasm could ever be enough for anything of that size... I have been told that geraniums can be stored for the winter, but this winter I killed mine by storing it in the garage, or it got killed, which ever way you'd like to have it. ;-) Now having seen these, I began to wonder how many years it takes to grow a plant into such height!?!
