Practical

Sometimes woven carpets need a wash. Especially the white ones! Sometimes it seems that a white carpet really calls for spilling some tomato sauce, dropping some chocolate cake, or at least shake that tea cup a bit... as if it was the color that made all the difference. ;) Once very long ago, I tried washing a huge white carpet at the balcony floor. It turned out to be a hopeless project. I never got all the soap out even I rinsed it countless of times! That was the end of that particular carpet. Another time I tried washing a carpet in a bath tub. It worked out fine, but it took me forever kneeling and bending over, scrubbing it and rolling it for rinsing... The end evaluation about that style: rather small carpets - perhaps, the large ones - never. Then I saw that self-service laundry places always have industrial washing machines, few of which are extra large... (that got me quickly thinking that perhaps one could even wash a carpet in such!) Well, yes, but not a maxi-size one, nor one that is woven too tight. When I did it for the first time, I barely got one big carpet out of the machine. Getting slightely worried I decided to wait for a moment when all other customers were gone before pulling the carpet out by force. Once it was out and dried though, it was just fine. But I got it, even the extra large industrial machines have certain limits! This softly woven carpet (ca. 130x180cm) however, has been following us for at least ten years now. Mostly for the reason that it is white (hahah), but it is also easy to wash. Usually it costs only 7-8 euros. Since it comes out of the washer spinned, it dries in two days. So fast. So easy. So practical.
