Anoppilasta aamiaiselle - From a mother-in-law to a breakfast

;-) Meillä on aina paras aamupala lauantaiaamuisin.

Kuvissa oleva hillo on tehty karviaismarjoista.

Some breakfast stories again, so that I have a good reason to add few food photos... ;-) We always have our best breakfast in a week on Saturday morning. That's something my husband introduced to me on the very early days of our marriage. It's a tradition from his childhood family. All of you who are married know that there are always two kinds of traditions in both families, some which a new couple embraces unanimously to continue, and some which the couple unanimously decides to discontinue... ;-) That's how life should be, there should be both continuity and discontinuity in order to create something new. Before we got married, my husband said something very wise to me. He said that we are privileged to choose the best traditions of our both families and combine those into a mix that we both love. I thought what a genius! :-)

Back to the photos, I am glad neither of us ever even thought of discontinuing the Saturday breakfast tradition. That would have been such a loss. It's always such a nice moment to enjoy together as a family! And no, I hardly ever use butter on my bread except on Saturday mornings. Still something about my mother-in-law. She provides us with amazing glasses of marmalade. Every time we visit there, she gives a selection of her last homemade marmalades to my husband. I am myself not a marmalade kind of person and never learned to cook them either, so I am happy that she keeps taking care of us in this way. The marmalade on the last photo is made of gooseberries. You probably thought it has something to do with kiwi, but nope it's not.
