Kirjajuhlat

Viikonloppuna oli Atomiumin vieressä, Expossa, "kirjajuhlat." Opettaja oli sanonut lapsille, että sieltä saa hyviä kirjoja halvalla. Luulimme, että "juhlat" olisivat tarkoittaneet kirjamessuja, joten hiukan harmitti, että se olikin lähinnä sellainen "outlet"-tapainen juttu. Kivoimmat kirjat olivat kuvakirjoja tarhaikäisille. Tyttö ja kaveri löysivät kuitenkin molemmat jotakin, joten ei ihan hukkaan reissu mennyt. Yllätys oli, että Tatu ja Patu -kirjojakin on käännetty hollannin kielelle! "Tattoe en Pattoe":ta myytiin 2,50€/kpl. Olikohan niin halpa hinta merkki siitä, ettei niiden kauppa ole oikein käynyt? Mukaan tuli Tatu ja Patu Työntouhussa ja Tatun ja Patun Outo Yökirja. Niitä kahta ei ollut vielä kirjahyllyssä suomeksi. Yökirja ainakin oli yhtä tatu-ja-patumaisen omituisia juttua täynnä hollanniksikin. :)

This weekend the Expo nearby Atomium hosted "a book party." The teacher had told the kids to go an buy books there. We thought more of a book exhibition, where you see all the new things from different publishing houses... This "party," however, turned out to be a sort of huge book outlet! Not quite what we had expected. Nowadays outlets are anyway everywhere and the internet is full of discount books of every kind. Happily, the girls found couple of things they liked. A good surprise was that they sold two recent children books that have been translated from Finnish into Dutch. We know these particular cartoon figures in Finnish, so it is funny to read them now also in Dutch.
