Muutama työkavereistani on puutarhatyyppiä. Yksi heistä kasvatti mahtavat viljelykset työpaikan takapihalle vanhan muurin suojaan ennen lomalle lähtöään, joten nyt on sitten vihanneksia aika tavalla muiden syötäväksi. Työpaikalla on tällä hetkellä hiljaista, kun kesäohjelmissa on hiukan taukoa, joten kaikkia maisemissa olevia on kehoitettu hakemaan kypsiä vihanneksia... Tytön kanssa haettiinkin tänään korillinen. Tyttö tuumasi, että tunnelma on ihan kuin mökillä, kun voi maasta vetää juureksia. Mukaan päätyi punajuuria, purjoa ja kale-kaalin lehtiä (mitä lie suomeksi) ja muutamaa salaattilaatua. Toivottavasti puutarhuri kuitenkin tulee pian takaisin, että ehtisi itsekin nauttimaan suuresta sadostaan. Nyt on nimittäin niin lämmin ja sopivasti sadekuuroja päivittäin, että vihannekset näkyvät kypsyvän hurjaa vauhtia! Täytyy varmaan laittaa puutarhurille sähköpostia ja kehoittaa ottamaan heti seuraava lento Belgian suuntaan... ;)

Couple of my collegues are totally into gardening. One of them grew a huge potager at the back of the buildings before leaving on holiday. Now I am afraid he's going to miss his harvest... At the moment there isn't much going on at the cafeteria as it is a week in between various summer courses. So we were all friendly informed that we may go and pick some ripened vegetables. Oh yes, I think all of us were exited about that. :D My daugther and I went there today and filled our basket with three beetroots, some kale leaves, one leek and few sorts of lettuce. Right now the weather seems to be quite optimal for gardening. It's warm and sunny combined with random showers of rain here and there. It means that the vegetables will ripen really fast!!! We'll probably have to e-mail the gardener and ask him to take the next flight to Belgium... ;)
