Lauantaina juhlittiin kaverisynttäreitä, niin, että äitiäkin pyydettiin kunniatehtävään, nimittäin valokuvaajaksi. Tytöillä oli monta ideaa hienoista BFF-valokuvista, joten yritin tehdä työtä käskettyä. Muutama hauska ryhmäkuva tulikin, mutta itse tykkäsin eniten kasvokuvista, joita nappasin varsinaisten kaverikuvien välissä odotellessani seuraavaa ideaa. Niistä tuli ihan laatukuvia, kun taas nämä ryhmäkuvat ovat aika keskinkertaisia. Jännitän jostakin syystä ryhmäkuvien ottoa aika tavalla. Mitä useammat kasvot pitäisi saada kerralla taltioitua, sitä vaikeammaksi homma menee. Tytöt itse olivat onneksi enemmän kuin tyytyväisiä. Illalla otettiin kuvat. Ehdin editoida niistä muutaman, mutta nyt aamulla oli jo tullut tekstiviestiä, joko kuvat olisi kännykällä katseltavissa. Odottelu ei kuulu tuossa iässä ihan parhaimpiin vahvuuksiin, mutta täytyy sanoa, näillä tytöillä on muita mahtavia piirteitä! Olen monesti ollut ihmeissäni, miten tämä porukka pitää yhtä. Ryhmä toimii joustavasti ja kivasti toiset huomioon ottaen, vaikka luonteissa on hauskasti ihan päinvastaisiakin piirteitä. Jokainen on selvästi omanlaisensa, mutta silti heissä on jotakin samaa, mikä tuntuu tutulle. Tyttö itse sanoo, että kaikkien vanhemmat ovat samanlaisia. :)

Our daughter was celebrating her birthday with schoolmates on this Saturday evening. I was honoured to be asked to photograph some BFF pics. Girls had lots of ideas of different poses. Couple of shots turned out great, but I felt myself happier about individual portraits I shot while waiting for their next ideas. Those were qualitatively far better than the actual group shots, but happily the girls themselves were completely satisfied with everything. (The group photos make me always nervous, because the more faces you need to manage at once, the more difficult it gets.) I had a moment to edit few pictures in the evening and now this morning there was already a text message asking whether the pictures are ready to be viewed... Patience may not be the strongest trait at this age, but I must say that these girls have many superb qualities that keep amazing me! They hold together in a very special way. Besides of being flexible, they take good care of each other, too. For such a tight-knit group one would expect that the personalities were a "perfect match," but these girls are all distinct, some seem even complete opposites. Yet, they belong together in a very obvious way! Inspite of their differences, they all have something in them that makes them feel alike. It's something familiar, which I am not able pinpoint more exactly. Our daughter's explanation is that all parents are somehow similar. :)
