Eilen pääsin kuin pääsinkin pikaiselle kirpputorikierrokselle. Melkein oven edessä oli heti kaksi suurta rottinkinojatuolia, niistä seuraavina rottinkinen sohva ja sen takan kaksi siirtomaatyylistä rottinkinojatuolia... Viimeiset kiinnostivat kyllä ihan eniten, mutta sitten kun aloin tutkia kiinteitä pehmusteita totesin, että niissä olisi muutama sellainen työvaihe, joita en tuolien hinnan vuoksi uskaltaisi alkaa testata. Jossain kohtaa mene raja, minkä verran kannattaa maksaa siitä, että saa kokeilla tehdä jotakin, mitä ei täydellä varmuudella osaa. Sohva oli liian koukeroinen tapaus, mutta ne kaksi ensimmäistä nojatuolia lähti mukaan. Ihan perusmallia, paksua, tukevaa rottinkia ja tyynyjen kanssa mahtava istuma-asento. Ne tyynyt jätin tosin kauppaan, koska ne eivät olleet puhtaat eikä edes sopivan kokoiset. Nyt pitäisi ehtiä jossakin kohtaa hakemaan paksua superlonia ja päällystyskangasta. Ei siis kuvia vielä, mutta projekti on melkein alkanut... Nyt on vaan aika kiireiset viikot meneillään, joten tässä ei arkipäivinä ainakaan ihmeitä ehdi. Sormet silti syyhyää jo.

I managed to fit a quick secondhand shopping spree into my day. Already from the entrance door I saw two large rottan chairs, behind them a rottan couch and then behind them imperial style sort of rottan chairs, too... Those would have been just perfect in style, but as I inspected them I noticed that they would have demanded taking a risk of trying out something rather complicated that I have never done before. I considered it for a while, but then decided that their price was slightly too salty for taking a risk. I'm a realist when it comes to my personal skills. Though I like trying out stuff, I'm not ready to pay just anything for having a chance to do so! The couch was too complicated to my taste, so I ended up with the two first chairs in the back of my car. Rather basic shape, but rottan is thick, natural and frames are solidly build. Totally comfortable with proper cushions. Speaking of which, I left the cushions to the shop because they were neither proper nor size-wise fitting. At some point I'll have to find time to get some thick furniture foam and material to sew covers. No actual photos yet, but a project has definitely started... Quite busy weeks at work though, so during weekdays there's no chance to go and buy much anything. But my fingers are already itching for getting the project going.
