Löysin eilen kivan kukkakaupan. Pakkohan sieltä oli muutama oksa ostaa mukaan... ;) Valitsin kahta sävyä suuria krysanteemeja, yhden ruusun, kolme tuollaista violetin sävyistä mitä lie kukkaa, muutaman heinä, joita en lopulta käyttänytkään, ja kolme suurta vihreää lehteä. Kukkien kanssa näpertely on kyllä niin rentouttavaa, että jos en olisi teologi, saattaisin hyvinkin olla vaikka innokas kukkakauppias. Koulutus sille alalle kuitenkin puuttuu, joten olen vain napannut vinkkejä oikeita kukkaihmisiä tarkkaillessani. Tässä siis täysin DIY-vinkit, jos syksyinen kimppu houkuttaa. :)
Aloitin rapsimalla veden alle jäävät alimmat lehdet/oksat pois. Sitten otin ruusunoksan käteeni ja aloin koota ympärille krysanteemeja, niin että oksat menivät hiukan ristiin. Etenin myötäpäivään. Sillä tavalla mielestäni saa kimpusta tasaisemmin asetellun ja "ristikkyys" auttaa siinä, ettei kukinnot tule liian tiukasti vierekkäin, vaan enemmänkin hiukan irti toisistaan, jolloin jokainen kukka pääsee lopuksi kuitenkin oikeuksiinsa. Hiukan se vaatii sorminäppäryyttä, joten aluksi voi joutua kokeilemaan muutaman kerran, kunnes löytää hyvän otteen. Lisäsin ne tupsukukat, mitä ne sitten ovatkin sekaan sillä ajatuksella, että ne muodostavat hiukan kuin kolmion. Lisäksi heinistä napsaisin muutaman lehden sekaan myös. Kun olin tyytyväinen kukkien asentoon, lisäsin vielä kolme suurta, vihreää lehteä juuri kukkien alapuolelle hiukan kuin kehykseksi ja sidoin kimpun narulla kiinni. Sitten vain maljakkoon vettä ja kimpun alaosasta oksat vanhoilla saksilla sopivan mittaiseksi.

Yesterday I passed by a cute flowershop. I just could not resist buying few stems... ;) I chose two different tones of large chrysanthems, one rose, three purple flowers that I don't know the name of, few stems of grass (ended up not using) and three large green leaves. Playing with flowers is so relaxing that if I was not a theologian I could have easily chosen a career in the flower business. I have no education for that though, so what I "know" are just things I have sometimes observed the professionals do. The following tips are therefore totally DIY, but perhaps one or two of you like to give it a go. :)
I started by taking of all leaves and brunches that would be under water level in a vase. Then I took the stem of rose in my hand and began assembling other stems to it so that the stems "crossed" each other slightly. Rather than just gathering them together as a "bunch," crossing them helps to get bit more volume to the bouquet by keeping the flowers slightly apart. I proceeded clockwise always keeping eye on the balance of colors and textures. I had one rose, but with all other flowers I always had three of each kind. Three of each are easy to balance when thinking of going ahead in "triangles." ;) It demands a bit of motor skill at first to keep the stems still, but after some practice it works just fine. Once I was happy with how the bouquet looked I added the three large green leaves just slightly below the flowers. That way they provide a sort of frame. Then I just tied the bouquet with a string and added water to the vase. Finally I measured how deep I like the bouquet to sit in the vase and cut the stems with old scissor to the right length.
