About being a mom

Äitiys on kyllä ehdottomasti elämän ihanin asia!

I want to show you two old and two new pictures! The old photos are such a treasure! Because the daily life of motherhood is mostly made up of ordinary days, it's wonderful to have those little moments, memories and feelings collected in albums. There's so much happiness captured in both of these old photos. I obviously "remember" the first situation only from having seen myself in the picture, but my mother's expression looks exactly the same as the feeling I had when the photo of me and my daughter was taken years ago. I can remember that like it was yesterday.

Motherhood is certainly the most wonderful thing in life! There is nothing that makes one feel so happy, joyful and proud. But there is also nothing that makes one feel more vulnerable, fearful and quilty. It's incredible how one can feel so amazingly serene in one moment and in the next completely worried about some little little thing. I think the proportions of everything change when something is about one's own child. Otherwise it's easy to be collected and act logically, but when it comes to one's own child the emotions take over. Motherhood is giving one's all, but also showing that even a mother has her limits. It's not about being perfect, but being enough. What makes it all challenging though, is that motherhood can always be lived only in that moment that is right now at hand. It's about holding tight and letting go. And each of those moments is filled with so much emotion. Probably much more than the child will ever come to understand, unless she once becomes a mother herself ja joins this happiest-scariest rollercoaster of motherhood.
